Parental Support Services

As a special educational needs coordinator (SENDCo), Robbins’ Nest’s founder Emily has worked closely with many parents on their journey to obtaining the best support and quality education for their children. She has also witnessed the confusion many parents face when navigating the world of special education needs. From the education, health and care plan (EHCP) application process to obtaining additional funding and support, parents often find themselves unsure of what to do for the best.

It is therefore her passion to equip parents with the necessary knowledge they need to navigate the SEND systems and where necessary, challenge the support their child is receiving. Emily offers bespoke support packages on a family-by-family basis which may include:

  • Information, advice and support on the Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessment (EHCNA) pathway.
  • Annual review support including attendance at annual reviews, working with you to formulate new outcomes and targets for the year ahead and reading through draft EHCPs.
As each individual case is unique, please contact us for a tailored quote.

Parental Support Packages

Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) Pathway Support Package

We offer up to 4 hours of support in the first step to obtaining an EHCP for your child. This includes:

Step One

An initial virtual meeting of up to 1 hour to discuss your child’s current situation and the statutory time lines and processes.

Step Two

A follow-up virtual or face-to-face meeting for up to an hour to prepare you for in-school meetings. This meeting may consist of gathering your views to present at the meeting, discussing targets and outcomes for your child and talking through any concerns or questions you may have about in-school meetings.

Step Three

A write-up of the minutes of the follow-up meeting outlining areas of discussion, targets and action-planning moving forward. This will be shared with yourself and can be used as part of the EHCNA application and shared at school meetings if you wish.

Step Four

A virtual catch-up session of up to one hour a week after the follow-up meeting to discuss your thoughts and feelings, review the action plan and to provide an opportunity to talk through any further steps you may feel you need support with.
